As usual, I haven’t been updating my site as often as I’d like . . . my busy schedule keeps on getting in the way. I’m very happy to announce I have received a research and development grant from the SAC to work on two major projects this year.
The first project, ‘Flight Path’ was a collaboration with my hombres the FOUND collective, an experimental live performance as part of the RSA / SSA performance arts festival and it took place on Friday 17 February, and was by all accounts a great success.
The second project is research for a two month residency that I am undertaking at the end of August 2006 at the Daglicht (printmakers workshop in Eindhoven) with my friend and fellow artist Roel Knappstein. The residency will allow us to realise and conclude various collaborative projects that we have been working on remotely for the past five years.
And in other news . . . the FOUND album is finished and is due to come out on my label SURFACE PRESSURE RECORDS at the end of May. The debut single ‘Mullokian’ is being released as a tasty limited-edition 7″ at the end of March. Other music business . . . the nice people at GDANSK RECORDINGS are helping me to fund the very first SPR label compilation ‘Surface Textures Rust’. And perhaps more excitingly, in collaboration with my friend Laurent Pastor and his Parisian label ASTRO LAB RECORDINGS we are bringing you good people the first in a series of mixed compilations ‘Auld Alliance’ featuring some of the finest music to come out of Scotland, France, Switzerland, Germany and the USA. So please keep checking the FOUND and SURFACE PRESSURE RECORDS sites and sign up to the mailings list for the latest info.
Until the next time I get a chance to update this page, take it easy . . . all the best fae Edinburgh, Scotland.
