For the second show in Analogue’s brand new exhibition space Tommy Perman will present a series of large felt-tip-pen drawings. The drawings depict scenes along the route between Tommy’s flat in Canonmills and Analogue in the Grassmarket and have been produced specially for the Running Amok zine series
“Throughout my career as an artist I have always been influenced by architecture and the city. As far back as five years old I was drawing the buildings I could see from my bedroom window. For some reason, I have always been attracted to ugly buildings – structures that most people don’t even notice as they walk by.”
These pen drawings are a slight departure from Tommy’s trademark computer drawings and a conscious decision to explore the different qualities of ink lines and textures on heavy recycled papers.
Analogue is a design and contemporary culture bookshop that recently expanded to include an exhibition space showcasing new work by emerging artists and illustrators. Running Amok is a series of limited edition artists zines published by Analogue and distributed internationally.
